My friend and I played it for 3 hours for 2 days in a row. Pretty much my favorite fighting series. All my other friends think it is stupid, despite having never played it. They are missing out I tell you!

By excellent you mean "out of control, they don't do that in real life. . . ever" physics right?

The bewbs make it pretty funny. The game doesn't take it self seriously, these just add to the hilarity! The best is this guy though. . .

I like my fighting games bloody and gory :) The ultimate fighting game would be Mortal Kombat with Armageddon (full) roster and MK9 graphics! My favourite fighter Hotaru (with the beautiful Pi Gua stance): (Tip for all: Install Hover Zoom or similar apps to view pics in links without having to click, zoom on thumbnails etc :)

I used to play the crap out of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 on the 360, in high school. I loved the crap out of that game! The fighting was fast, even if it wasn't balanced. Haven't played much after that though. I played 9 for a bit but it just wasn't as fun as I thought it was going to be.

The two I mentioned above are the only ones I ever played! And when you're used to Ps2 graphics and you go over to a friend's who has MK9 (or when I got the demo for PS3 later) and you see what, a decade?, has done in terms of feel for the game, WOW. It felt so powerful to see all those moves and new ones in HD and it was just so intense! It's a shame the roster is just 1/3 of MKA but the gameplay I loved (lack of aerial and dedicated weapons move set was a drawback). Is that what you didn't find fun or sth else?

I am not sure, I only played it for 20 minutes or so, but it just didn't feel quite the way I liked it. I guess it was slow but that isn't the case cause I have seen people play this and it is pretty fast. I guess this was just after Dead or Alive 4, and I was awe struck with how much fun it was. I might go back and play it but I honestly don't know.

I've never played DOA, is it faster paced?

DoA is hands down my favorite fighting series. I used to take that game so seriously...never again. Now I force myself to play casually.

DOA has a quick tempo for sure. A lot of the moves consist of several strikes and they can easily be strung together. There's a interesting group of characters and the fighting styles are varied, but the characters generally play the same on the surface.

Not sure about more recent games, but you can get away with button mashing. I know that's not always people's cup of tea, but it makes it more accessible to play with friends.

Never been a DOA guy but I really loved the graphics of this game when it was released. Or was it DOA 4? I dunno. #StreetFighterAllDayYo!

Have you played MK? I will speak of Armageddon as that's the one I've played most. The 4 buttons on the right are the 4 main basic attacks which can also be strung together but in certain ways (button mashing works but you need to have a general idea of their "preferred" button for example some have moves based on Triangle others based on Square etc

It is pretty quick rounds can be over in just a few seconds. Plus you have these combos that are pulled off in quick succession. So to answer your question. Yes.

Brother you think you got engrossed with those PS2 graphics? I crashed at a friend's a few months back and the next morning we were playing MK9 - now I got the demo for my PS3 when it came out on PS store but I have a CRT tv (think you know where I'm going with this....) I can't even begin to tell you how it feels to play a fighting game with graphics like that, on an HD tv like my mate has. It was SO INTENSE. I enjoyed this luxury one other time period, when I was in 2nd year of uni and my housemates had an HD screen - PLAYING FORZA 4 ON THAT SHIT, GODDDAMN I WAS HOOKED. I literally sat in the sesh room for days just getting wrecked and playing live - man as much as I love Gran Turismo they really need to learn from Forza for simple things that make huge changes like buckets for top PI/PP of each class for quick matchmaking, full up rooms and seamless play SORRY TO RAMBLE x
